Our experience with Digital Era Innovators was mixed during our 14-month tenure. Here are the positives: They maintained good communication and provided consistent monthly progress reports, although they were unreachable on weekends, which posed challenges for urgent issues like website downtime. We did see incremental improvements each month.
However, there were significant negatives: Despite our initial goals of making SEO more cost-effective than PPC and eventually replacing it, these objectives were never achieved. After 14 months, our SEO costs averaged £0.37 per click, more than double the £0.16 per click we paid for PPC. Moreover, critical keywords never achieved high enough rankings compared to our competitors, limiting our organic reach. Our organic clicks averaged 1,600 per month, costing us £600 monthly at £0.37 per click.
Additionally, the initial website they created for us was basic and overpriced at £1,200, considering it was not an ecommerce site and could have been designed by a standard web designer. We opted to switch to Squarespace for a new website, which cost less than half the original price and significantly improved our conversion rates.
While we appreciate the efforts of the Digital Era Innovators team in improving our organic rankings, the return on our £8,600 investment, resulting in only 1,600 clicks per month after 14 months, was insufficient for our small business needs. We have chosen to allocate our resources elsewhere for better value. We wish them the best in their future endeavors.
